The MBTI looks at two key preferences: perceiving (how you take in information, e.g. whether you prefer to focus on the big picture or on the details) and judging (how you process this information and the way you act upon your decisions). Although everyone has the capacity to act in different ways and to use different preferences in different roles, Jung believed that following your natural preferences would reduce stress and optimise satisfaction and wellbeing.
The MBTI is a widely used psychometric instrument with more than 60 years of research and development and is used by more than 2 million people a year worldwide.
